“The Girl Who Makes A Splash” (Part V)

While the contestants wait for the fan vote to come in and determine who will win the challenge and who will go home, they hang around the K&GI house. Louise shows her mother around the swanky building, talking about her experiences there. They’re giggling about some past challenge when they run into Gabriel, who looks mortified that he’s meeting Louise’s mother. He’s heard so much about her, and he’s unsure of what she’ll think of him.

Céline: Oh, so this is the guy you’ve been talking about, huh?

Louise: *nervously* Yeah, this is Gabriel. We’ve… been spending a lot of time together.

Céline: Oh, I’m sure. So, Gabriel. You’re from South America, I hear?

Gabriel: Um, yeah. From Asunción…

Céline: Wonderful! I’m from Colombia. Maybe you’ll be the one to finally convince Louise to speak Spanish more often.

Gabriel: I’m sure that could, um, be arranged…

Céline: *looks at Louise’s anxious face* Oh come on, you two! I’m happy for you! I’m not going to judge.

Gabriel: It sure is a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Meunier. I’ve heard a lot of good things about you!

Céline: You’re a charmer, boy. I’ll keep my eye on you! *laughs* No, I’m just joking. And call me Céline, please! It’s nice to see that my LouLou has found someone she loves as much as her dolls… did you know she used to make her dolls get married? She even had a favorite, one that looked quite like you actually… and she even held a marriage ceremony with it and dressed up and everything—

Louise: MOM! We don’t need to know all of that…

Gabriel: No, please! Tell me more!

The night and the next morning are uneventful, until the contestants gather in the yard for the elimination ceremony. ajmkv is waiting for them, looking happier than he has in a long time, and he greets them all with a hug before the housemates line up for the elimination.

ajmkv: Hello everyone and welcome to the 10th elimination ceremony on K&GI, Season 2! We’re back in our beloved K&GI house after a lovely vacation in the tropics. It’s been a long time, but this Top 5 is finally going to turn into a Top 4! This week, the contestants had to pose for a photographer, who shot their covers and spreads for Vista Magazine, and you’ll remember that the winner of the season will have these photos published. But before we find out the results of the fan vote, let’s discuss the other prizes!

Marjan: Do you think ajmkv is like a cheeky sausage that gets a thrill of talking about these prizes? *giggles* It’s like he can’t stop reminding us of them even though everyone has heard of them thousands of times… he’s such a silly little otter.

ajmkv: So, as you all know, the prizes are the cover and a spread in Vista Magazine, a brand new home, a TV show on SimTV, and 1,000,000 Simoleons. The winner will also be the face of Sim Media Corp. for a whole year, so as you can see, these prizes are major! But let’s get to it. Why don’t you wave to our beloved viewers at home, everyone?

Kyungri: *voiceover*Nobody waved except for Louise. But hey, viewers. Mama Kyungri loves you. Don’t you forget it!

ajmkv: So let’s get to it! Let me tell you, the voting was intense! I had my opinions about the results of the shoot, but the fans seemed to be convinced about who they wanted to win and who they wanted to go home.

Marjan: *voiceover* I just hope I did well enough to stay this week… I’m not ready to go home! I know I haven’t been doing the best so I wouldn’t be surprised if I went home, but… *sighs* I need to stay! To my sweet turtle fans, please keep me here!

ajmkv: Let me tell you, I had my own favorites… Gabriel, you especially! You were really smoldering in your shoot. I knew you were going to serve the hot daddy fantasy and you didn’t disappoint! I think your cover was my favorite… I was salivating!

Harrison: *voiceover* I wonder if Gabriel ever gets tired of being objectified. *chuckles* I mean, I think his expression when ajmkv called him a “hot daddy fantasy” said it all… he wasn’t looking very happy to hear that once again!

ajmkv: But who cares what I think, right? For once, my opinion isn’t that important. Regardless of the results, let me just tell you how proud I am of each of you! This Top 5 is the best I could have asked for! …But now, let’s announce the winner of the challenge. The winner was the runaway audience favorite and will be the first person to join the Top 4. Kyungri!

Congratulations, Kyungri. You won the vote; you had no competition, even! Everyone loved your cover and your spread, and you’re going to be shooting a pilot for a TV show next episode! Excellent job, girl!

Kyungri: Oh, this is TOO good. Am I surprised that I won? No, I looked delicious and I knew it. But am I grateful to the fans for confirming what we all knew? Yes, yes I am. Fans: thank you so much, I won’t disappoint you. If you believe in me like I believe in money, then everything will turn out excellent. My fourth challenge win! *cackles* It’s TOO good.

Marjan: *voiceover* This is wonderful news! I thought for sure I’d be going home! I’m not sure exactly how I’ve made it to the Top 4 but I’m sure there’s a reason for everything. *pauses* And it’s most definitely not the fans. *pauses and brightens* But my little turtles are everything to me so thank you for voting for me!…

Harrison: *whispers* Hey, big guy. I hope you make it through! I think you have more to offer at this point.

Gabriel: *whispers back* Shut up! I’d be more than happy to go home in favor of you. You’re a great person, Harrison. *Harrison blushes*

ajmkv: So, we’ve come to this! Our two favorite guys in this competition, facing off in the Bottom 2! Let me tell you, I didn’t expect either of you to be here. I loved both of your photoshoots. Gabriel, you were even my favorite of all of the covers! Kyungri may have objectively been the best, but you were my favorite. I’m sad to see you here!

Harrison: *whispers* You try to do your best here! I know you’ll make all of us proud.

Gabriel: *whispers back* Stop! I don’t think you’ll be going home, you’re the fan favorite! You got this, bro.

ajmkv: So, Harrison and Gabriel. It’s been no secret that I have a lot of love for you both, and I truly wish I could keep both of you because you’ve each been a joy to see grow and blossom in this competition. I’m truly proud of you both. But it is out of my hands, and the person that the audience has chosen to keep… is…

 

 

 

Louise: I was almost 100% sure that they’re going to send Gabriel home… and I thought I was OK with it. I thought, life isn’t going to end if he leaves, but it sure will be sad to see him go after everything that’s happened… and then ajmkv called out…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Harrison!

Congratulations, Harry! You’ve made the Top 4! You barely edged out Gabriel, but your enduring status as a fan-favorite helped you survive this elimination! I’m looking forward to your pilot next week.

Kyungri: Oh my God! Wow!

Louise: Oh…

Kyungri: *voiceover* This is shocking news! I didn’t think they’d actually let him go after he’s been feeding them all this drama to keep things interesting.

Harrison: Oh wow… I didn’t expect to make it through! I’m super grateful to the fans, thank you for keeping me! I think this has lit a fire under me, I can’t keep coasting along if I’m going to win. I’m going to make all of you proud, just wait and see!

ajmkv: Gabriel, I really enjoyed having you here. I’m sure we all did! You’ve come a long way from the beginning of this competition. Who could forget the confident swagger you walked in with? Conquering hearts right and left only to reveal that yours is the biggest… heart, of course *Kyungri snorts*. I’m going to miss you, and I’m sure we all are!

Gabriel: Harry, be strong! I’m proud to leave the competition now, I made it far and I lost to a worthy competitor. Keep making me proud! You’ve got everything it takes to make it all the way, just dig deep inside.

Harrison: Thanks, Gabriel! I sure will try.

Gabriel: I’ll miss all of you! I won’t forget everything we’ve lived through, you’ve become some of my favorite people in the world.

Kyungri: Oh, so I’m no longer a “fake-titted crone”?

Gabriel: *laughs* We all know I was just intimidated by the dazzle of your gleaming plastic sheen.

Kyungri: As you all should be. *chuckles* We’ll all miss you, Gabriel.

Harrison: *nods* Yeah, we’ll be missing our hunky coach!

Marjan: Our furry bear!

Louise: *sniffles* We’ll miss you so much…

After the elimination, Gabriel packs up his things and gets ready to leave the competition for good. After one last goodbye to his now ex-housemates, he finds Louise outside the front door, waiting to say one last goodbye to him.

Louise: It’s silly, getting all emotional like this. I know I’ll see you very soon anyway. But… I feel like we’re in a magical bubble in this house, and now we’ve really got to face the real world.

Gabriel: Lou… the real world is waiting for us, yeah, but it’s going to be wonderful with you by my side. I don’t know if I deserve everything I’ve found in you, but I’m happy that I’m leaving now. I didn’t win the money, or the TV show…

Louise: *giggles* or the magazine cover, or the new house, or the publicity campaign…

Gabriel: *laughs* Thanks for that…

Gabriel: …but I have you now, and that’s enough for me.

Louise: And for me, too. But it’s hard to see you leave.

Gabriel: Hey, chin up! You still have things to show here, and I’ll be watching proudly. You’re going to charm everyone, just as you’ve charmed me!

Louise: The coach keeps coming out, huh? Giving me a little pep talk?

Gabriel: No pep talk here! You don’t need it. You’re a confident woman, I love that about you. I’ll be so happy to see you shine!

Louise: I suppose so… yeah, I’ll make you and everyone proud.

Gabriel: I’ll be missing you, though. Come back to me as soon as you can!

Louise: You betcha. I’ll be back before you know it. And it will be ME that’ll have the new house, the money, the magazine cover…

Gabriel: *laughs* OK ajmkv, don’t rub it in…

Gabriel: Goodbye Lou. See you soon.

Louise: Very soon. Te quiero.

Gabriel: Yo también, preciosa.

Gabriel: So that’s it for me! I have to thank everyone for this whole thing, it’s been quite the eye-opening experience for me. I always tell my team that change comes when you least expect it, and new experiences make you stronger. Little did I know that I’d be learning my own lessons while on this show… but I’m so, so happy about it. Goodbye everyone! See you some other time, it’s been a pleasure.

Elsewhere, Marjan is gazing at the starry night sky when she’s joined by Harrison and Kyungri.

Harrison: Marjan, how are you doing? Everything all right?

Marjan: My sweet Harribae and Queen Kyungrine! Everything’s peachy, thank you!

Kyungri: Marjan… we don’t quite know what’s going on with you, but we wanted to let you know that you can trust us if you ever want to open up. You’re not alone here.

Marjan: Do you ever stare at the stars, hoping and wishing that the person you miss the most in the universe is also looking at the same stars?

Kyungri: Sometimes I do… do you do that often?

Marjan: All the time… hoping and praying that he’s all right, happy, and safe.

Harrison: We can keep you company, if you’d like.

Marjan: I’d like that, guys. Thank you.

Kyungri: I’m sure whatever you’re worrying about will turn out OK in the end.

Marjan: Hope is the last thing to die… and I have a lot of it.

And so, we’ve reached the end of another episode of K&GI! We’ve lost Gabriel, our favorite hunky coach with a heart, and now we’re at the Top 4! Each of our contestants has grown and shown their charms, and next week they’ll show their talents creating TV pilots!
